Moving blocks on your Moodle page (staff)

Moving blocks within the module block panel

  1. Turn editing on.
  2. Drag-and-drop the blocks between the three columns.
Sometimes it can be difficult to drag a block into an empty column. If you're struggling with this, you can move the block via the settings instead:

  1. Turn editing on.
  2. Click the edit cog on the block, and choose Configure this block.
  3. Under Where this block appears and On this page, set the default region to Column A, B or C.
  4. Save changes and the block will have moved.

Moving a block out of the module block panel onto the main page

Think carefully about whether students really need to see the information every time they log in to the course. If they do (for example a Twitter feed) then it is possible to move blocks out of the block panel and into the right hand column on the page.

  1. Turn editing on and click the cog on the block to configure the block.
  2. Under Where this block appears and On this page, set the default region to Right.
  3. Save changes and the block will have moved.
